Back in the Frozen North
After a very early morning (airport at 4:30) we made it in to Fairbanks today. We will be spending the next 9 days here, then heading down to Anchorage for a long weekend. We are really excited to be in our old stomping grounds, and Old Man Winter has hung around late this year – seems like just for us. During the week ahead we will be getting together with friends pretty much every evening, going to St. Paul Church on Saturday, then University Park Bible Church on Sunday.
Today we will have 17 hours and 48 minutes of daylight, and by the time we leave Fairbanks we will gain about another hour. It was 32 F on landing, but the dry cold really is a lot more bearable, and I was comfy in long sleeves with no coat. I am sure our systems are pretty confused already with all the time and culture changes, and going from hot/humid tropics to dry/cold arctic desert is one more step towards total insanity. Loving it though!
If you are reading this from AK, and we haven’t lined up a time to get together, we would love to hear from you at mlind@maf.org and we will set up a time to chat!
