Day 20
So today was a great day, according to the facts: we got to hang out with very good friends, we had our first visit to Chick-fil-A ever, we all got naps/rest, it was a gorgeous sunny day in the 60’sF – perfect for hosing down the car seat.
Yep. Hosing down the car seat only means one thing: sick kid.
We’re now thinking that’s Levi’s past three days of sudden, horrible, impossible behavior was not trip burn-out after all, but rather perhaps simply an upset stomach. On the way home from Chick-fil-A Levi started to get whiny, then sweaty, then he just…well, no explanation needed. A few minutes after driving again (stopping only to clean up a little), he promptly complained of “food on my tummy” and being “very, very tired” and fell asleep. It was gross and sweet all at the same time. As soon as he was cleaned and napped for a while he was feeling much better and back to his usual, happy self. Hopefully that was the end of that! We were so grateful it happened on a day when we didn’t have any real plans, especially a day when we weren’t in the car!
Our friends here are friends we originally met in Alaska. They have been wonderful hosts and we’ve enjoyed getting to know their expanding family. They have been advocating for us and our mission work, telling everyone they know, passing out our prayer cards, and just being so supportive! It’s been great to talk with them and answer their questions in person!
Tonight we’re eating a late dinner, hanging out with our friends, and preparing to move on tomorrow. Wheeee!
Tomorrow: OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOklahoma….
I’m so glad that Levi is feeling better! I’m really looking forward to seeing you to orrow. Have a safe drive. Love, Vickie
